Everyone lives in cities, what fun is that.

Joke's on them—you get all the mountain roads.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 18:47 |

Yeah, but only for the three months where they aren't frosted over.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 18:50 |

Yeah, well.. you might be alone in the rural areas of Canada.. but according to the map I'm all alone in Norway :P
PS. I know I' not, I'm just the only oppo in Norway in that map :P
PPS. Looks like you've got plenty of awesome roads near you.

Ravey nailed it.

You're not the only one, Hoccy is on the map too. I on the other hand am alone here in Finland and not even on the map.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 18:58 |

Hmm.. I could not find Hoccy the last time I checked... *off to ze maps"
But there must be more than ONE person from Suomi here? We're at least 7 from Norway.

Would be good if we could get all the OPPOs on the map
11/22/2013 at 19:02 |
|
Not in oppo that know of. J-Tenno is from Finland but lives in Spain and I'm pretty sure that Gimmi is also from here but lives in Japan.
11/22/2013 at 19:05 |

I don't currently remember my G-mail accounts password so I would need someone to add me there.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:06 |
|
Strange.. you must get your friends on here then :) And yeah Gimmi seems to be either a swede or a finn(fin, finlander? What do you call someone from Finland? Suomalaisempi?)
On another note though, can't see Hoccy on the map, so perhaps something's wrong on my end,
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:06 |

If I put the marker on my hometown instead of the small city where I study, it would be pretty rural as well.
Fun? Let's just say I get the best from both worlds right now.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:07 |

I just saw you on there, I don't think I realized you were in the Interior, let alone B.C.
11/22/2013 at 19:10 |
|
A finn is correct. Suomalaisempi means more finnish.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:14 |
|
Suomalaisempi would be more relating to the language rather than nationality then I'd guess. I know what we call someone from Finland in Norwegian or Swedish, just never thought about what it was in English :P
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:16 |
|
Close but so far.
11/22/2013 at 19:17 |
|
It can mean both but 'more finn' just didn't sound right to my ear. Also finnish can also imply to the nationality. eg. finnish man
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:18 |
|
You should meet one of my best friends then :P He's only half finn, but I SWEAR he's more finn every time he drinks :P
11/22/2013 at 19:21 |
|
:D
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:23 |

But, if you're from Finland, from north or south? What I'm curious about is whether you speak swedish as well ;)
11/22/2013 at 19:28 |
|
I'm from south. Swedish is obligatory subject in school but I somehow managed to forget it after 9th grade, I can understand it somewhat well though.
Jag kan inte talar svenska and so forth
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:32 |
|
I know it's obligatory, but if you never use it I'll be sure use English whenever I respond to you.
11/22/2013 at 19:34 |
|
Or you can try finnish... :D
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:39 |
|
I could, but no :P I do know a few words, I understand more than the average norwegian :P But I can't write any of it, you've got tons of iëouyëas all the way :P You should be happy I know how to pronounce Gold of Lapland.
11/22/2013 at 19:43 |
|
It's always like that with finnish and foreigners... Fortunately I speak little better english than average finn.
BTW Oppo map seems to be screwed at the moment you're the only nordic opponaut that hasn't been moved to Greenland.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 19:47 |
|
They can't move me... NEVER.. I'm grounded to the ground :P
But yeah, Finnish is hard to write, but not that hard to pronounce really. And when you've got the hang of it, there are a few other languages that comes easy as well I'd guess (Estonian comes to mind)
11/22/2013 at 19:57 |
|
The intonation is similar in estonian, finnish and hungarian. There are also similar words in finnish and estonian but they can have different meanings.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 20:00 |
|
Yeah, but the same thing goes for Swedish and Norwegian :P The word Rolig comes to mind...
11/22/2013 at 20:05 |
|
The largest differences I notice between those two are the pronunciation and ä,ö transforming into Æ,Ø.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 20:09 |
|
Hehe, the Ä, Ö and Æ, Ø would be small differences really.. In Norway the word Rolig means calm, in Sweden it means fun.. and the word Tjej in sweden means girl (as I'm sure you know) but the closest word we've got in Norway would be Kjei (eastern dialect) meaning tired/bored :P
11/22/2013 at 20:16 |
|
Yeah, Ä,Ö,Æ,Ø is pretty much cosmetic, btw ä and ö have a common name 'ääkköset' in finnish. I didn't know that tjej had different meaning in norwegian.

Yeah, although I usually go to sleep quite late (1:30-3am) I admit that after 4:00 it starts to be too late.
